Plot Summary
Goblin the drama is a fantasy romance drama that tells the story of a 939-year-old goblin named Kim Shin (played by Gong Yoo), who is cursed with immortality and has been living for centuries as a punishment for his sins. The only way for him to end his life is to find his bride, the one who will pull out the sword that has been lodged in his chest for hundreds of years.
One day, Kim Shin meets a high school student named Ji Eun-tak (played by Kim Go-eun), who has the ability to see ghosts and summon them by blowing out candles. She is the one who is destined to be Kim Shin’s bride and end his suffering.
Meanwhile, Kim Shin’s house is guarded by a grim reaper (played by Lee Dong-wook), who has no memory of his past and is trying to uncover his identity. As the story progresses, Kim Shin and Ji Eun-tak develop feelings for each other, but their relationship is complicated by the fact that Kim Shin is an immortal goblin and Ji Eun-tak is a mortal human. They must also face challenges and obstacles from others who seek to take the sword from Kim Shin and use it for their own purposes…
